The Winding House is a spectacular restoration of an old Kent Coal Heritage Building near the picturesque village of Coldred, nestled between Canterbury and the Coast in a quiet country lane at the top of the North Downs.

An imposing Victorian building which has undergone a dazzling “grand designs” conversion to provide an intriguing mix of old and new. After two wonderful family weddings we have decided to share our house so that you can have a unique wedding day, catering exclusively for 100 daytime guests with a further 50 in the evening.

Make a dramatic entrance across the bridge into the ceremony room, with 65ft high soaring ceilings and bathed in natural light by huge arch windows, where all your guests will be afforded a fantastic view of your arrival ahead of your ceremony.

You can welcome your guests with drinks and canapés on the sunny terrace or in The Winding House, which is neutrally decorated ready to be transformed to suit your style and personality, we really want you to make the place your own.

You can enjoy your wedding breakfast in the large dining room then in the evening sweep onto the dance floor for your first dance as the married couple, while the white washed walls of the reception room gently change colour.

Wind down and reminisce the following day amongst close friends with the complimentary use of our beautifully decorated beach hut on the nearby Kent coast.
