Excited to say we have been awarded our Civil Ceremony Licence and are now taking bookings for small intimate weddings within our beautiful 16th Century restaurant. Weddings and ceremonies take place in our beautifully decorated restaurant and tendered lawn area. Congratulations if you’ve just become engaged, or even if you find yourselves adapting previous plans. We have dates available for 2021 & 2022, either for the ceremony and wedding breakfast or just wedding breakfast!

The Hengist is situated on the river in Aylesford, a historic village with its own monastery which dates back to the Battle of Aylesford in 455. Gemanic Hengist fought Welsh Vortigen. Horsa who was Hengist’s brother is said to have fallen in battle. You can just image how much history and quirky buildings are within this amazing village.
The Hengist is a Modern restaurant and bar, offering high class and classic fayre all prepared by our brigade of chefs, headed up by Matt who excels with his modern style of creativity. Produce is fresh, sourced locally and of the highest standard. We believe in premium at an accessible price point.

We can cater for formal three to five course wedding breakfasts, sharing platters for your guests for a more casual style, canapes and champagne receptions or outside for delicious BBQ meats and fish restaurant style.
