Mini Moons
Following on from last year, mini-moons continue to be top choices for newlyweds. Travel experts at Kuoni have seen an increase in couples taking two honeymoons, one short trip ‘staycation’ to places in England, Scotland, Ireland immediately after their wedding ceremony, followed by plans to take a long-haul trip next year or the year after.
Personalised PPE
Although this is probably the last thing you expected to have to take to a wedding, face masks are important to keep yourself and others around you safe. Offer personalised Team Groom and Team Bride masks with your bridal party’s initials and your wedding theme colours, or get creative with the sewing kit and design your own, there are loads of templates online for both beginners and experts – they also make great re-usable wedding favours.
Midweek dates
The amount of postponements has seen the mid-week wedding rise in popularity and this is set to continue as a more affordable option. Prices and demand for Saturday weddings can be significantly higher, in some cases double the price, for the exact same venue and service that you would get on a week day.
Mini cakes
With fewer mouths to feed, there has been a rising trend for mini single tier wedding cakes. From dramatic icing, bright colours and stand out cake toppers, little cakes can still make a big statement, so chat with your cake maker to discuss how to make a big impact for your big day.
Live streaming
The introduction of sites such as Zoom has allowed couples to include more than the 15 allowed guests to witness their ceremony. This will continue into 2021 with many also using Facebook and Instagram Live to stream their weddings to friends and family across the UK and around the world. As well as the ceremony think about live streaming the other stand-out moments like the speeches or cutting of the cake so everyone can feel involved.
