A glamorous 1920s inspired wedding shoot

With an unusual start to the 2020s it’s no wonder people will be turning to the glitz and glamour of the 1920s for style inspiration when we’re finally allowed to roam free.

Make-up artist Becky Downton explains how to add a contemporary Gatsby look to your special day.

As a professional make-up artist, I have long been fascinated with the roaring 20s era for fashion, glamour and sophistication. Hayne House in Kent was my natural choice for such a shoot with the mid-century accents and a bright and airy orangery where the idea was based around incorporating and mixing the elements of old and new.

The Former Hunting Lodge at Hayne House was once home to Edward Simpson and his wife in the 1920s who would often travel to their other house at Port Lympne where they would be entertained by Charlie Chaplin.
